EpiQuest Suite™

In silico pathogen insert design Platform

EpiQuest™* supports the identification, analysis and prioritisation of pathogen-derived immune targets for rational vaccine design.

Developed by Aptum Biologics Ltd. in the UK, the EpiQuest Suite is a set of subscription-based bioinformatics tools for the in-silico analysis of B-cell and T-cell epitopes (www.epiquest.co.uk). The platform is designed to help predict which peptide sequences are most likely to induce high-affinity antibody responses or strong and specific cytotoxic T-cell responses.

 

For GeminiVax, EpiQuest is used to support the design of compact antigenic cassettes containing selected CTL, T-helper and B-cell epitopes. This approach allows vaccine candidates to focus immune responses on conserved and immunologically relevant regions of swine pathogens.

For GeminiVax Aptum Biologics has further developed algorithms and analytical matrices specifically supporting swine vaccine construction. These tools help evaluate candidate epitopes not only for predicted immunogenicity, but also for conservation, specificity, SLA class I binding potential and efficient processing for antigen presentation.

Why it matters: many important swine viruses are highly variable, with substantial differences between strains, genotypes and regional lineages. Rational epitope selection may help reduce dependence on a single circulating strain and support broader coverage across regional and emerging variants.

By combining EpiQuest-supported epitope analysis with vector-based antigen delivery, GeminiVax aims to develop vaccine candidates with focused immune targets, compact cassette design and improved adaptability to viral diversity.
